1969 Kenworth K-100 in Pencil

A small drawing of what I think is a ’69 K-100 because the grab bar is short and there is no stepladder behind the cab door, only the foot support under the door. My favourite era is basically before the Nineties, especially when Cabovers were plentiful. 7.5" x 5". Pencil on paper.

Ein Kunstwerke

Another experiment with digital work. This image was made from several individual images composed together and then stylized with photoshop.

Digital Vette Completed

Had some time today to complete this. Added the emblems, steering wheel license plate, tweaked the rims. Included a shot sans wheels just because it looks neat, lol.

Nigel Mansell Red 5

I started another small acrylic depicting Mansell the Lola T93/00 for Newman Haas Racing. Mansell  became the only driver in history to hold both the Formula One and CART championships at the same time. I’ve also included his Williams FW11 from the 1986 season.

Vector Vette

I’m enjoying the process of creating this digital vector work with Adobe Illustrator. It’s still a WIP, I’ll tweak it as I go. Not sure whether to show it facing right or left. If facing left then I will have to tweak the position of the steering wheel. Rims need work, too blue at the moment. Need to add a hood and side emblem as well.

Another drawing prep for an upcoming acrylic. 10.25” x 8.125” on Canson recycled medium toothed surface drawing paper. Model is Erin Mercer.

VW Bus Colored Pencil Drawing

This was strictly a time filler for pleasure. I hadn’t used coloured pencils for years so I pulled them out and sketched up this VW Surf Bus. It’s only 6” x 4” on bond paper.

Darryl Sittler

Darryl Sittler WIP

I began a pencil study for an upcoming colour piece portraying legendary Leafs Captain Darryl Sittler. This will likely be completed in gouache on board. This piece is pencil on Canson paper. 8x10

Blue Mule WIP

This is a small WIP commission for a friend who has been driving trucks for 30 years. I decided to change the angle of the truck to make it sit off the edge a little bit. It looks more spontaneous as opposed to staged since this is a “made-up” scene. I imagine Carroll Jo Hummer parking on the side of the highway with his wife Jerri. There is scene in the movie depicting that.

Serenity Drawing

This drawing is my inspiration for an upcoming acrylic. 10.25” x 8.125” on Canson recycled medium toothed surface drawing paper. Model is Erin Mercer.

Serenity WIP

A WIP pencil study for an upcoming acrylic. I may do the colour version on masonite but I haven’t decided yet for sure whether canvas or masonite. Thanks again to Erin Elizabeth for modelling and to Nathan Cyprus for his expertise as a photographer. This drawing will be 10.25” x 8” on Canson recycled medium toothed surface drawing paper.

Losing Your Marbles (Completed)

This one has been put to bed. Again, I will have it properly photographed for my files. Losing Your Marbles. 36" x 24". Acrylic on canvas.

Marbles WIP Update

Further progress on the marbles with background complete and the jar started. The sunlight makes an interesting image over the painting itself.

Losing Your Marbles WIP

I’ve begun another still life, this time a jar and marbles, again taken from my own phone pic (low quality). I simplified the background using Photoshop to enhance it and that will be my reference. Acrylics on canvas, 36” x 24”

Art Cards

I'm thinking of making some of my art available as note cards. Maybe I could promote them at outdoor art shows, car shows or retailers? These are some samples of my automotive art but the question becomes whether to invest the expenses to produce and market items such as these in quantity. I would like to produce some of my still life work in this form as well.

Customized Boxes

I meant to update this earlier, but my customized boxes arrived after Christmas. At least now I can package these as I produce them, whether for myself or to sell them at retail outlets.
